Luis was our guide with driver Rodrigo to visit Chichen Itza and Cenote. Luis was awesome engaging us the entire way in facts, history, culture and conservation. We were a large group from the U.S. of varied ages and it was fun for all. The lunch choice was excellent and served us traditional choices and also accommodated kids choices. I really enjoyed Luis’s focus on conservation and focus on local flora and fauna. Rodrigo was a safe driver and very patient. I highly recommend the company and Luis/Rodrigo.

Chichen Itza ruins and Valladolid Absolutely superb day visiting Chichen Itza with Arturo. Starting early in the morning to beat the crowds and the heat, we were picked up at our hotel (thanks to driver Enrique). It was a long journey but we had stops on the way. Arturo was very knowledgeable, giving us lots of facts, highlighting the key areas, explaining the main gods, customs and way of life. Lucky enough to see woodpecker and motmot birds too. As we left the site was crammed with visitors so we were thankful we had the early start. Had a delicious lunch in Valladolid with recommended typical Yucatan cuisine. Fabulous trip, waited a lifetime to see Chichen Itza and was not disappointed. This is a well organised day out and we were really looked after. We have 2 more trips booked this week. Very highly recommend booking with Absolute Adventure Mexico. Tequila Tour in the Mayan Jungle with Tulum ruins We had the same guide for Tulum that we had for Chichen Itza which was brilliant as he told us about the differences in the old cities and the building types. It was an amazing place. We also got there super early and were the first on site which made for amazing photos and no crowds. They do seem to factor in the best times for heat and crowds. Lunch was really fresh at a lovely restaurant in the jungle. We also did the tequila/mezcal tasting over lunch with insight given into the different types of tequila/mezcal. Another amazing tour.

My husband and I absolutely loved our private tour. Our tour guide, Luis, taught us so much about Mayan history and the geography and cenotes. We enjoyed seeing the ruins and learning about how the Mayans created their calendars/kept track of time. Also, Luis was a great photographer and took so many good pictures of us and the surrounding landscape. Snorkeling in the cenotes was amazing and we even got to explore some caves, including a bat cave. Lunch was delicious. Snorkeling with the sea turtles was also a highlight of the tour. It was so cute when they swam up and popped their little heads out of the water. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone, and request Luis, he’s the best! Our driver, Omar, was also great. He stopped on the way back to our hotel so we could get ice cream. Both Luis and Omar were extremely friendly and professional, it was a great day!

We booked the private express Chichen Itza tour, and it was the highlight of our trip! Our tour guide, Eddy, was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the trip unforgettable. The car ride was comfortable, and it was so fun chatting with Eddy! When we got to Chichen Itza, we learned so much and experiencing everything in person was incredible. I definitely recommend Absolute Adventure Mexico and would use them again for any tours or excursions around Cancun/Riviera Maya/Tulum!

We had a great private tour to Chichén Itzá with a stop at a cenote and lunch at a restaurant. A person in my party was not feeling that great and we were able to spend as much time as we wanted at each place without waiting on anyone else. The driver was great, car had good a/c and was always ready for us when we were. Our tour guide was knowledgeable about the area and provided great information and history about the ruins. Private tour is the way to go.

Luis was an incredible guide! He was very knowledgeable but made the information so engaging and enjoyable even for my younger kids. I travelled with my 3 kids and husband and two of my children are nero-diverse. Luis was so patient and kind with them and made the whole experience enjoyable! Would definitely book another tour with this agency and request Luis again. We had Enrique as our driver and we felt very safe with him. Overall an incredible experience.

We definitely felt that this tour was levels above the rest, especially compared to other tours being held in the same place. A personal and professional touch was added to the tour that made us feel like we were getting the most out of the historical site we visited, as well as a comfortable level of patience when it came to personal shopping time, not rushed at all. Above all else we learned a lot, and we were definitely not bored, especially with the visit to the cenotes natural pool (utterly gorgeous), which we won't forget. Finally our day finished off nicely with possibly the most authentic food we would have found in Valladolid.

If you’re looking for a private tour of the Mayan ruins and cenotes, stop searching and book with Absolute Adventure. It was one of the highlights of our trip! We visited Chichén Itzá and a beautiful cave cenote with our guide, Arturo, and driver, Omar. Arturo was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain the history, traditions, and deeply rooted Mayan culture with genuine respect for the sites. We left with such a greater appreciation and understanding of the land, the people, and the history than we ever expected. GET THERE EARLY! Beat the crowds and heat. We originally requested a specific cenote, but Arturo suggested a different cave cenote that would be much less crowded while offering the same incredible experience. He made it clear the choice was ours, and we’re so glad we trusted his recommendation. He was absolutely right! There were only two other people there when we arrived, and at one point it was just my husband and me swimming in the cave. It felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. A huge thank you to Omar as well for getting us everywhere safely, especially driving through a heavy rainstorm on our way back. He was friendly, professional, and made the day completely stress-free. One of our favorite parts of the tour was enjoying lunch together at a local restaurant, where we had delicious food, including traditional Mayan dishes. Spending time talking with Arturo and Omar made the experience feel even more authentic and personal. We can’t recommend this private tour enough. Arturo and Omar made an amazing team, and if you have the opportunity to book them together, do it—you won’t regret it!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The absolute BEST way to experience Chichén Itzá—worth every penny! Before booking our excursion, I spent hours researching tour companies. I even asked both ChatGPT and Claude AI for recommendations, and Absolute Adventure consistently came up as one of the top choices. After experiencing it ourselves, I can confidently say they exceeded every expectation. They weren’t just the best option on paper—they were the highlight of our entire trip. We traveled as a family of four (2 adults and our kids, ages 7 and 11), and choosing a private tour instead of a crowded bus tour was the best decision we made. Being picked up directly from our hotel at 6:00 AM allowed us to arrive at Chichén Itzá before the large tour buses, making the experience so much more enjoyable. Having the flexibility of a private tour made traveling with kids effortless, and we were able to move at our own pace all day. The private van was spotless, modern, comfortable, and stocked with cold drinks and snacks, making the drive relaxing from start to finish. The rest of the day was just as amazing. We visited a beautiful cenote before it became crowded, enjoyed a delicious included lunch, and explored Valladolid. Josh recommended some fantastic local shops and snacks, gave us time to explore on our own, and made sure we got the most out of every stop. What really separates Absolute Adventure from other tour companies is the personal experience. There was no rushing to keep up with a large group, no waiting for dozens of people, and no feeling like just another customer. The entire day felt thoughtfully planned around our family. We paid around $1,200 (including tips), and after experiencing everything that was included—private transportation, an incredible guide, an outstanding driver, lunch, snacks, drinks, flexibility, and personalized service—I can honestly say it was one of the best values of our entire vacation. The best tour and transportation to Chichanitza. The van is perfect and comfortable for a family of 4-6. Our driver, Ron was super efficient. Our Guide Eddy was like family. We left early enough to start our tour when they opened at 8am. We got a nice history of all the buildings-much more than other tours seemed to be experiencing. We were done by 10 and headed to cool off at a Cenote. We had an intimate and authentic lunch in Valladolid. Such a great almost private experience. Highly recommend. We will be back.

We purchased a tour that included a tour of the we completed a tour of the Tulum ruins, a cenote and lunch at a local Mexican restaurant. Our group included a 5yo and a 3 yo. Arturo as a guide was professional, friendly and patient. He coordinated the activities brilliantly assisting the children and even supported all of us swimming at the cenote. Hugo as driver was terrific, driving carefully. We were able to experience the beauty Yucatan and learning its history.

Four of us booked a private tour to the Tulum Ruins and a cenote. Hugo was our driver and Arturo was our guide. I can’t emphasize enough how great these guys were! Arturo was so informative and knowledgeable about the ruins and cenote. Hugo was a safe, cautious driver, even when the road to the cenote hit bumpy. The ride was comfortable. Arturo even joined us a in the cenote and showed us around, providing details and educating us about the cenote. We did not choose the cenote ahead of time so Arturo told us about each one so that we could make an informed decision about the one we wanted to visit. Lunch at the local restaurant was great too. Drinks are not included with your lunch (any drinks, this includes water, soda, or alcohol) so be ready with cash or card as outside drinks are not permitted. Overall, we loved the experience and Hugo and Arturo. Don’t forget to tip!!

5/5 ⭐ Highly Recommend We booked two private tours with Absolute Adventures: first the Tulum Ruins, Swim with Turtles and Mexican Lunch on a Monday and then the Two Cenote and Mexican Lunch on Wednesday. For Tulum and Turtles our tour guide was Luis and our driver was Rodrigo. For the Cenotes, our tour guide was Arturo and our driver was Enrique. Both guides were exceptional and both drivers took good care of us. Booking online was simple and their communication about the tours, both confirming the tours before we left home and same day communication about pickup, was excellent. Our hotel turned out to be a headache about letting outside tour companies onto the property, and we ran into some real meet up issues because of it, but the team was super responsive and got it sorted quickly. It all worked out in the end, and honestly that kind of responsiveness under pressure told us a lot about how they run things. We started our Tulum tour early to beat the crowds and heat (highly recommend!). Luis guided us through Tulum and made sure we stayed hydrated the whole time, which matters more than people think when you’re out in that heat. His knowledge of the area, the flora, the fauna, the history, was genuinely impressive, and he had this rare ability to be educational and entertaining at the same time without ever feeling like a lecture. At our turtle excursion he schlepped our gear and made sure we didn’t forget anything, none of which was his job, he just did it because that’s who he is. I was also practicing my broken Spanish throughout the trip, and Luis never once made me feel dumb or embarrassed when I got it wrong, which I really appreciated. For our next tour, Arturo took us to the cenotes. When he picked us up, he suggested we visit a different cenote than what we’d originally booked. I was a little skeptical, figured he just wanted a shorter drive. I was completely wrong. The cenote he picked instead allowed us to have two totally different types of experiences that we would have missed entirely otherwise, and I’m glad we trusted him. At Cenote Jaguar, Arturo gave our kids real time and space to jump and play, which ended up being a highlight of the whole trip for them. At Cenote Dos Ojos, claustrophobia was a real concern for us. But Arturo’s tour through the caves was informative and calm enough that we felt genuinely safe the entire time. Between the logistics, the guides, and how they handled a hiccup that wasn’t even their fault, these two tours were one of the best parts of our trip.

We had a terrific early morning visit to the ruins. Arturo was a wonderful guide and was very knowledgeable about the site and the Yucatán and Mayan history. He and driver Enrique added so much depth to our trip and I’m so glad we booked them. Definitely worth getting up early to walk through before the heat and the crowds get too intense.

Just got back from a tour of Tulum and the dos ojos cenote with Luis (tour guide) and Rodrigo (bus driver). It was amazing! Luis was super knowledgeable about the history and culture of the region, very fun to be around and great with our elementary aged kids. Rodrigo had plenty of cold drinks available and set us up with life jackets and snorkeling equipment for the cenote. Ask for them if you are looking for an energetic tour of Tulum. 5 stars!

Our family had an outstanding experience with Absolute Adventure Mexico. Eddy, our guide, and Enrique, our driver, made the day enjoyable from start to finish. Enrique was punctual, professional, and made the drive comfortable and relaxing. We left our hotel at 6:30 a.m., made one quick coffee stop, and then headed straight to Chichén Itzá, arriving before the larger crowds. His driving was safe throughout the day, and we always felt well taken care of. Eddy was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the history and culture of the Maya civilization. He answered every question we had and explained the significance of the sites in a way that was easy to understand and genuinely interesting. We never felt rushed and appreciated being able to explore at our own pace, something you simply don’t get on a large bus tour. Visiting Chichén Itzá and Valladolid with a private guide made all the difference. We avoided the stress of waiting for large groups, had plenty of time for photos, and were able to focus on the places that interested us most. The personalized experience was well worth it. We had a wonderful guide (Arturo) and driver (Antonio). They were very responsive to our needs. It was a large group (22 people ranging in are from 6 to 74) and they ensured that everyone was able to participate and enjoy the tour. It was HOT at Tulum, and Arturo ensured that even the youngest children did not overheat (even pouring water on one child to cool him down). Our family had an absolutely incredible experience with Absolute Adventures on a private tour to the breathtaking cenotes Nicte-Ha and Taak Bi Ha, followed by an amazing lunch at Juanita’s. From beginning to end, the entire day exceeded every expectation. Arturo, our guide, and Omar, our driver, were nothing short of exceptional. I can’t say enough good things about our experience with Absolute Adventure Mexico! Our guide Josh and driver Enrique were kind, professional, and knowledgeable. The day itself was absolutely perfect, with thoughtful touches like cold drinks and snacks provided in the van. The day started early, which was great because we arrived at Chichén Itzá before the tour buse and crowds, and before the blazing hot afternoon sun. We spent about two hours on the tour of the ruins, which was perfect. Josh knew a ton about the history and culture and was eager to share his knowledge. After the ruins, we went to the cenote to swim. We were offered the choice of a larger, more well-known cenote and a smaller one that was a bit quieter. We chose the quieter one, which was enclosed inside a cave. It was absolutely magical. The water was very cool and clear and there were very few other visitors. It was really like nothing we had ever experienced. After the refreshing swim, we went to a small restaurant in the town of Valladolid. We were offered the choice of five different entrées, all of which were superb. The owner of the restaurant was a very friendly woman and the service was great. She actually gave us fresh mangoes from her mango tree. Following lunch, we had about 30 minutes to walk around the main square in the town. We got some delicious ice cream and checked out the cathedral on the square. We arrived back at our hotel at about 5 PM, very tired and very satisfied. The private tours may be more expensive than some of the larger tours that take buses, but the service is tailored toward your interests, and all of the ticketing is taken care of before you go so there is no waiting in line at any of the attractions and no added costs because everything is included (except a tip). Because we were in a group of five people, the whole day felt like a really interesting conversation instead of a formal tour. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone, but be aware that there is quite a bit of walking and you have to be OK with very hot weather. We wore sun protective clothing to the ruins, which worked very well. Lots of people also had sun umbrellas, which was also a great idea.
